Catherine comes from a farming background, moving to Wairoa at the age of 12 from Eketahuna where her parents worked on a Dairy farm . She then married a local farmer and lived at Awamate for 17 years. She is currently employed as a veterinary nurse, and has 5 children. Her interests include spending time with her 8 grandchildren, caring for a multitude of animals, bare foot skiing with her twin boys, which has been a big part of her life over the past 10 years and travel which she plans to do more off over the next few years, especially another trip to Africa.

I emigrated to NZ from Denmark in early 1991. Completed my veterinary training at Massey University in 1996. I have worked as a small animal vet and also as a lecturer at Wintec in Hamilton. In July 2011 I moved to Alexandra from Hamilton and started working in Cromwell. I enjoy work involving nutrition, reproduction and behaviour. My partner and I live on a lifestyle block in Alexandra with my 8 year old daughter. My son is currently working in Beirut, Lebanon. Travelling is something I have always done a lot of! In my spare time I breed and show Gypsy Cobs and Leonbergers.
